Most Patient Care Coordinator jobs are about keeping the schedule moving. This one is about helping people feel looked after from the moment
they walk in.
At Sun Valley Eye Care we are a people first practice. We take the time to actually understand our patients, their families, and what they need from their vision and eye health. That starts at the front desk. We’re looking for a warm, calm, and organized Patient Care Coordinator who enjoys real conversations and wants to be part of a team that cares about the quality of the experience.
What the role actually looks like:
- Be the welcoming first face of the clinic - the person patients remember
- Answer phones, schedule thoughtfully, and keep the day running smoothly without feeling frantic
- Check patients in and out while making them feel comfortable and informed
- Support the clinical team so the doctors can stay focused on thorough care
- Handle day-to-day front-desk responsibilities in a modern, patient-centred practice
Who tends to thrive here:
- Someone who is naturally friendly and professional without being scripted
- Organized enough to manage a busy schedule, but patient enough not to rush people
- Comfortable with computers and clinic software (or quick to learn)
- Previous medical, dental, or optometry experience is helpful but not required -Attitude and reliability matter more
- Available for part-time weekday hours (including some Monday evenings. Closed weekends.)
Why Sun Valley:
We’re a local SE Calgary practice (Sunpark Plaza, next to South Calgary Medical Clinic) focused on high standard comprehensive eye exams, dry eye care, myopia control, and genuine relationships with our patients. Dr. Ben Barrus, Jenn Cooke, and Michele Webster prioritize education and connection -and that culture shows up at the front desk too.
