Associate Optometrist - part time to full time

Optometrist Opportunity | Downtown Eye Care & The Contact Lens Department, Ottawa

Downtown Eye Care & The Contact Lens Department is looking for an optometrist to join our team two days per week.

Our established practice places a strong emphasis on ocular health and disease management, alongside comprehensive eye care and specialty contact lens services. We work alongside a uveitis specialist, offering a collaborative setting for the care of patients with complex ocular conditions.

We’re looking for a colleague who values thoughtful patient care, enjoys working with a team, and has an interest in ocular health and contact lenses.

Clinical services and opportunities

·       Comprehensive eye examinations and ocular disease management

·       Collaborative care alongside a uveitis specialist

·       Specialty contact lens fitting, including scleral lenses and keratoconus care

·       Myopia management, supported by axial length measurements

·       Dry eye assessment, with plans to expand into in-office dry eye treatments

Diagnostic equipment

·       Maestro OCT

·       Biometer for axial length measurements

·       Corneal topography

·       Automated visual field analyzer

·       Medmont Meridia for dry eye assessment, including meibography, tear film analysis, and grading reports

Experience with specialty contact lenses is welcome, and so is a willingness to learn and develop this area of practice. This role also offers an opportunity to help shape our expanding dry eye services.
