About Our Practice
Northern Lights Optometry is a well-established, community-focused, full-scope optometric practice located right in the heart of downtown Whitehorse. With 50 years of service in the Yukon and a loyal patient base, we pride ourselves in offering the highest level of eyecare and customer service. We are a multidoctor practice with state-of-the-art technology for diagnosis and management of ocular disease as there isn’t a local ophthalmologist in Whitehorse. As a result of this, a large percentage of our practice is devoted to ocular disease. Our equipment includes Zeiss Cirrus 6000, Humphrey visual field analyzer, Optos Monaco (Fundus/OCT), Reichert Vrx auto-phoropters and much more. Our clinic serves a diverse patient base both in age as well as socioeconomics. The doctors in our clinic have excellent working relationships with all healthcare providers in our community, including the locum ophthalmologists who travel to Whitehorse throughout the year.
What We Offer
· 21% of gross revenues which results in a high earning potential, based on the depth and volume of loyal patient care of Northern Lights Optometry. Estimated potential annual income based on the historical associate volumes on this percentage would range from $175,000 to $300,000. This is determined by a Dr’s efficiency and patient care volume.
· Retention/performance bonus with multi-year terms.
· Excellent work/life balance! Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm.
· Supportive team who assists with efficient patient flow and pre-testing.
· Your own exam lane and separate personal office.
· Extended medical benefits/corporate health plan opportunities with full-time hours.
· NLO would be willing to contribute to moving expenses with the signing of a multi-year employment term.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a full-time optometrist who is passionate about eyecare and is motivated to provide the high level of care and customer service Northern Lights Optometry is known for. The successful candidate should have an interest in comprehensive, full-scope eyecare and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Both new grads and experienced ODs are encouraged to apply!
